Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician III to join our team at Trenton Systems. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and testing computer systems, sub-assemblies, and parts using assembly drawings, pictures, procedures, and verbal instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform first prototype build assembly, devise design for manufacturability documentation, create procedures, and write work instructions on new products and engineering prototypes.
  • Liaise with manufacturing build teams on pilot and production builds, train manufacturing personnel on new products and processes, and design manufacturing cells and assembly processes for new and existing products.
  • Perform functional tests on assemblies per drawings and procedures, make recommendations for changes and updates, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with root cause analysis to identify corrective actions for products and production systems, participate in continuous improvement projects, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Technical school diploma in mechanical electronics or mechanical assembly, 8-10 years' electrical/mechanical assembly experience, and technical writing experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, understanding of MRP systems and processes, use of electronic and pneumatic assembly tools, measuring devices, and six sigma - lean training or exposure.
  • Forklift experience, metal shop/rework experience, and product defect analysis and reporting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical school degree or associate degree in mechanical engineering, 10-15 years' electrical/mechanical assembly and test experience, and technical writing experience.
  • CAD design - mechanical engineering, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, understanding of MRP systems and processes, use of electronic and pneumatic assembly tools, measuring devices, and green belt - six sigma.
  • Write failure analysis reports, forklift experience, and metal shop/fabrication experience.
