Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Technician II Specialist to join our team at CPG Corporation. As a key member of our electrical maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our DC power systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with battery replacements and new installations, ensuring minimal disruption to our customers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on batteries, adhering to strict safety procedures and protocols.
  • Assist in the warehouse as needed, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Interact effectively with internal and external customers, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to critical facility work rules and safety procedures.
  • Ability to use hand and general maintenance tools and equipment, including digital multimeters and amp clamps.
  • Keep job sites clean during replacements, installs, and maintenance, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Assist with work in other service divisions as needed, including switchgear, operations, HVAC, and more.
  • Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Learn to disconnect and connect sealed batteries in cabinets and open racks, as well as build flooded cell battery racks and spill containment systems.
  • Install flooded cell batteries onto rack systems in critical spaces, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Enter pre-installation test readings into our reporting format through laptop computers, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Collect data from PM services and import into files for reporting purposes, providing valuable insights and analysis.
  • Gain experience from preventive maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine and emergency maintenance, and repairs with minimal direct supervision.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by Services Management, including travel up to 50%.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Clean driving record and safe operation of department equipment.
  • Elementary fix/repair techniques based on directed supervision.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn basic AC/DC theory, electronic components, and electronic circuitry.
Training and Certifications
  • Complete training on the use of digital multimeters for AC and DC diagnostic measurements.
  • Use of amp clamps and flexible CT in DC and AC measures.
  • Use of AlberCellcorder for battery testing and maintenance.
