Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multidisciplinary Engineer to join our Propulsion Plant Team Trainer Simulator Engineering (PPTT) team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge simulator training solutions for the U.S. Navy's nuclear propulsion program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of high-quality simulator training solutions.
  • Interface with stakeholders, including Navy personnel, suppliers, and other government agencies, to ensure project objectives are met and technical requirements are satisfied.
  • Perform design reviews and technical interchanges with suppliers to validate designs and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  • Review and disposition supplier design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements.
  • Support on-site hardware inspections and testing of production equipment at supplier facilities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in engineering or a related field and at least 7 years of relevant experience. You will also need to have a strong understanding of nuclear propulsion systems, simulator design and development, and project management principles.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
  • Experience evaluating and creating designs against approved technical requirements.
  • Experience working with external suppliers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and to proactively make recommendations to management.
  • Comfortable working independently or in a group setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is $103,100.00 to $161,100.00, based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
