About the Opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. As a Staff Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting civil site design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and project management tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the engineering design process, contributing to construction drawings and providing technical support across various projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver top-notch solutions to clients nationwide.
  • Utilize AutoDesk Civil 3D for construction plan development and conduct hydraulic, hydrologic, and water quality assessments.
  • Work independently and with team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, performing tasks under supervision, including design, drafting, and research.
  • Coordinate tasks with technicians or administrative staff, communicate with clients and regulatory agencies as directed, and ensure safety plan implementation in field operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in civil engineering, with knowledge of erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and civil site design principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and experience in supporting proposal development and client management activities.

An employee in this Philadelphia, PA-based position can expect an hourly pay rate of $29.93- $38.85/hour. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
