Compensation: $17.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide essential expertise and guidance to the interdisciplinary healthcare team, fostering a culture that respects and integrates each individual's perspectives and preferences into treatment and community support activities while advocating for clients.
  • Meet with clients to offer guidance and support in alignment with their treatment plans.
  • Facilitate peer support groups with assigned clients regularly.
  • Assist clients in daily decision-making and resolving minor challenges.
  • Help clients access resources, navigate processes, and encourage follow-through on proposed solutions, including locating social activities or providing additional assistance as needed.
  • Accompany clients to meetings and participate in community group discussions to advocate for their needs, leading recovery dialogues and self-help sessions.
  • Encourage clients to develop healthy relationships by promoting participation in community activities.
  • Observe client behavior and overall well-being, discussing observations with them.
  • Model effective coping strategies and self-help techniques for individuals or groups.
  • Provide clients with advice on empowerment skills and successful community living.
  • Inform clients about community resources and their appropriate use, offering information to clients and families on specific topics as assigned.
Successful candidates for the Recovery Support Professional role will work collaboratively within a healthcare interdisciplinary team, focusing on ensuring successful recovery and overall mental well-being for clients.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with the supported population.
  • Certification as a Recovery Support Specialist or 1 continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health/substance use treatment or diagnosis) and eligibility for certification by the governing agency.
  • Completion of a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training specific to the required components of the service definition, including crisis response, within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Valid driver's license and automotive insurance.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • CPR, first aid, NCI, and/or role-related certification is a plus.
Pre-employment Screening:
  • Complete criminal background check.
  • Name checked in registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities).
  • Drug testing.
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required).
  • For positions requiring driving, proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, if required for providing transportation for individuals.
