About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department, assisting in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed client expectations.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.
Requirements
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
  • ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
