We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Supervisor to join our team at the Channel Islands YMCA. As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily operations of one before and after school childcare site, including program development, enrollment, staff supervision, safety, parent involvement, and communication.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs in accordance with guidelines from State of California Community Care Licensing or California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs
- Supervise up to 14 children independently under the guidelines from State of California Community Care Licensing or 20 children in accordance with guidelines from California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs
- Provide quality care and supervision to children, ensuring a safe environment for all to thrive
- Guide behaviors using positive methods, keeping in mind each child's individual needs
- Carry out activities and lesson plans, ensuring the program delivers Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards
- Assist the Program Director in the planning and administration of the program, including selecting, training, guiding, evaluating, and employee corrective actions for staff
- Meet program quality expectations as evident on surveys, observations, and audits
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years' experience working in a childcare setting
- Complete required certifications within 30 days of hire
- Ability to obtain Criminal Record Clearance and participate in the DMV Pull Program
- Health Screening Report and negative TB test required prior to first day of employment
- Minimum of 12 units of Child Development or related field and 3 units in Administration
- 48 college units; or Associate's Degree; or pass a District-selected assessment demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
