Global Accounting Director

Job Summary
The Bridgespan Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Accounting Director to lead our accounting function. As a key member of our Finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, client invoicing, bank reconciliations, payroll, grants drawdowns, and taxes.
You will lead the monthly close of our financial books, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard our assets and ensure the integrity of our financial data.
As a Global Accounting Director, you will also serve as a valuable member of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation team, effectively oversee all Bridgespan bank accounts, and manage our organization's banking relationships with our various banks across the globe.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong understanding of global accounting principles, including transfer pricing, intercompany transfers, and international banking. You should have a proven track record of successful people management and development, including across lines of difference, and be able to build inclusive team environments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, client invoicing, bank reconciliations, payroll, grants drawdowns, and taxes.
- Lead the monthly close of the financial books, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Serve as a valuable member of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation team.
- Effectively oversee all Bridgespan bank accounts and manage the organization's banking relationships with our various banks across the globe.
- Assist the VP of Finance & Risk Management in effective management of the organization's investments.
- Assist the Audits & Compliance Manager and VP of Finance & Risk Management in the annual audit and tax filing process for all Bridgespan entities across the globe.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a non-profit organization, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing staff.
- Master's degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or a combination of undergraduate degree in Business and CPA with relevant work experience.
- Experience in a professional services firm strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of global accounting principles, including transfer pricing, intercompany transfers, and international banking.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
- Experience with audits, including US and global audits.
- Experience in implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of US non-profit finance regulations and compliance requirements required. Knowledge of global finance regulations and compliance requirements a plus.
