At Sterling Engineering Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements and reports.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reports and analyses as required.
- Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger, including payroll and fixed asset accounting, analysis of accruals, and reconciliation of numerous accounts.
- Oversee the projects accounting functions for the firm and monitor the progress of projects, investigate variances, and ensure that project billings are issued to customers.
- Assist with the development of the financial aspects of the business case for each proposed project.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a similar field and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an accounting role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with full cycle accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Ability to prepare project budgets, financial forecasts, project invoicing, project controlling, and billing.
- Ability to analyze capacity utilization, manufacturing deviations, and PPV.
- Strong skills in Excel and Microsoft package and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, accuracy, and attention to detail, ability to manage confidential information.
- Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
- Integrity and a desire to constantly learn, improve, and go the extra step.
