Job Summary

The Shift Supervisor is accountable to the Operations Manager and is entrusted with a range of critical responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary contact for clients regarding security-related inquiries or requests.
  • Serving as the next authority in the command hierarchy following the shift supervisor.
  • Overseeing scheduling, including managing requests and approved time off.
  • Handling payroll matters, including addressing discrepancies.
  • Managing invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy before submission to clients.
  • Monitoring attendance, disciplinary actions, vacation/time-off requests, and compliance documentation.
  • Reviewing end-of-shift reports and daily activity logs from security personnel.
  • Facilitating document management by scanning and organizing files into the shared drive.
  • Managing termination processes and associated paperwork.
  • Coordinating requisitions, conducting interviews, and guiding new hires through the onboarding process.
  • Overseeing uniform and equipment requests.
  • Providing job training and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Engaging with department heads as necessary.
  • Participating in monthly Emergency Operations Center meetings and quarterly business reviews.
  • Conducting investigations and collecting written statements as needed.
  • Ensuring all necessary documentation for workers' compensation is completed.
  • Maintaining up-to-date Post Orders.
  • Facilitating frequent communication with all supervisory staff.

Requirements

  • Proficient in technology, particularly with the MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with technology-driven scheduling platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience in project management is preferred.
  • Skilled in leading teams through complex problem-solving scenarios.
  • Strong customer service orientation is essential.
  • Able to effectively communicate across all levels of management in a corporate setting.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional time-management, organizational, and multitasking abilities are required.
  • A reliable team player with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Capable of thriving in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • A positive and collaborative team member.

Qualifications

  • Preferred candidates will possess either an honorable military discharge, a Bachelor's degree, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and project management.
  • Ability to independently create reports, spreadsheets, diagrams, and other necessary documentation using tools such as MS Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
  • An understanding of security operations and contract management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with operational KPIs and the ability to leverage data to enhance operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills are essential.
  • A proficient communicator who values teamwork.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a general office environment is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and occasionally stressful environment.
