POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring effective inventory management, loss prevention, and the smooth operation of merchandise shipping and receiving. This position is integral to maintaining the organization of the stockroom and supporting the management team as a representative of St. John Knits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Exhibits a high level of professionalism in communication, attitude, and collaboration with clients, colleagues, and management.


• Communicates effectively with internal and external clients through various channels (in-person, phone, email, and written correspondence).


• Receives and organizes new merchandise and inter-store transfers for display on the sales floor.


• Identifies and reports discrepancies on shipping invoices to management.


• Understands and executes store system functions related to receiving and transferring merchandise.


• Maintains a clean and organized stockroom, storage area, and shipping/receiving zones; categorizes stock by groups, sizes, and colors.


• Ensures efficient and accurate operations of stockroom processes and documentation.


• Adheres to all loss prevention and inventory control protocols.


• Assists in preparing and conducting physical inventories and actively engages in resolving inventory discrepancies.


• Follows proper paperwork procedures to prevent loss of company assets.


• Aids in merchandising and upholding the store's appearance in accordance with St. John standards.


• Maintains all lighting and general upkeep within the store.


• Supports the processing of markdowns, promotional marketing, and damaged merchandise.


• Ensures cleanliness and organization of the store, lunchroom, stockroom, and restroom facilities.


• Assists in maintaining and ordering necessary supplies for store operations.


• Possesses general product knowledge and stays informed about new products.


• Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality in work, attendance, and personal presentation.


• Actively participates in monthly meetings and follow-ups.


• Attends all required store meetings.


• Maintains high standards of cleanliness and organization.


• Adheres to timekeeping procedures.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Maintains professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with customers, peers, and management.


• Upholds high standards of work quality, attendance, and appearance.


• Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.


• Follows local, state, and federal laws.


• Takes on additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor related to the position/department.


• Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.


• Embodies the values of St. John Knits.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:


• Interacts with all levels of the organization, including employees and external vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


• 2-3 years of experience in shipping and receiving within a luxury retail environment.


• Availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


• Ability to stand, walk, and squat for the majority of the work shift.


• Capability to climb ladders or stairs as required by store design.


• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.


• Proficient in reading, counting, and writing to accurately complete documentation and reports.
