Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and administer respiratory therapy treatments to patients with heart and lung abnormalities in assigned hospitals, including intensive care and emergency rooms.
  • Set up and monitor complex respiratory equipment, such as volume and pressure ventilators, for critical care patients.
  • Perform routine respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen, therapeutic aerosols, and airway care.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and take corrective action based on established procedures.
  • Determine the effectiveness of therapy and make recommendations to physicians regarding treatment.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy and one year of recent clinical experience in Respiratory Care.
  • License to practice as a respiratory care practitioner through the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within six months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification within six months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Certification within six months of hire.
