Position Overview:
We are in search of a driven Accounting Associate with 3-5 years of expertise in real estate financial management to enhance our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of financial management within the real estate sector and demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard software, including Yardi and Appfolio.
This role is crucial in supporting our property accounting functions, ensuring precise financial records related to property management, and contributing to the overall fiscal health of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct bank reconciliations for property accounts, ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions.
2. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions related to properties promptly.
3. Collaborate with property managers and regional teams to address accounting inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
4. Maintain precise records of property-level financial data, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
5. Monitor cash flows of properties and assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
6. Aid in the preparation and analysis of property-level financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
7. Support year-end property tax preparations and assist CPAs with tax return processes.
8. Stay informed on industry trends and updates in property accounting standards.
9. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting specific to property operations as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real estate sector.
- Proficiency in Yardi and Appfolio software platforms is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with real estate accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
