Role of the Social Justice Education Facilitator

As a Social Justice Education Facilitator, you will play a pivotal role in promoting restorative practices within our school community. You will be responsible for embodying and teaching the principles of A Disciplined Life, while providing essential social emotional support to our students. Your advocacy for social justice will empower students to recognize their potential and navigate their educational journey successfully.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cultivating a Culture of Healing and Equity
  • Foster a school environment focused on accountability, skill development, and relationship building.
  • Collaborate with school administration to ensure student safety and well-being.
  • Engage with parents, teachers, and support staff to address disciplinary matters constructively.
  • Utilize data to establish strategic goals for implementing restorative practices.
  • Analyze school data to identify areas for improvement and inform training initiatives.

2. Enhancing Social Emotional Learning
  • Lead the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for all community members.
  • Manage the school-wide behavioral intervention system, ensuring effective support for students.
  • Conduct meetings to address student behavior and develop intervention strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families to promote engagement.
  • Develop proactive measures to encourage positive student behavior and attendance.

3. Facilitating Experiential Learning
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills.
  • Connect students with community resources for additional support.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Public Administration, Education, or Human Services.
  • Experience in urban educational settings is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing restorative justice practices.
  • Background in conflict mediation and youth development.
