About the Role

The Racial Justice Fellow will play a key role in advancing the mission of DePaul University by promoting racial justice and equity in the Chicago community. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to make a meaningful impact in the field of racial justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Collaborate with the Faculty Director to develop and implement programs and projects that promote racial justice and equity in the Chicago community.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with community stakeholders, including students, faculty, and community leaders, to build relationships and promote the work of the Racial Justice Fellowship.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on issues related to racial justice and equity, and develop policy recommendations to address these issues.
  • Teaching and Mentoring: Teach and mentor law students on issues related to racial justice and equity, and provide guidance and support to students working on racial justice projects.
Requirements
  • Education: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience working in the field of civil rights or criminal justice.
  • Skills: Strong research and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment: A demonstrated commitment to promoting racial justice and equity, and a strong understanding of the issues related to racial justice and equity in the Chicago community.
