POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for evaluating and executing quality maintenance tasks on a priority basis to ensure the safety and functionality of all facilities, equipment, and vehicles associated with the designated project.
This role requires collaboration with the Facilities Manager, along with the ability to assess, organize, and prioritize all responsibilities to operate efficiently and effectively in completing assigned tasks. Flexibility and availability for emergency situations are essential.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Conducting general repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Performing grounds upkeep, cleaning both interior and exterior areas of facilities, as well as washing vehicles and preparing client living spaces.
- Assisting with move-ins, including lifting and relocating furniture, equipment, and supplies, while supporting the Facilities Manager with deliveries and service contractors.
- Transporting supplies, equipment, and furniture, procuring maintenance materials, and responding to facility emergencies as needed.
- Completing work orders, mileage logs, invoices, time sheets, and other necessary documentation promptly, while managing petty cash responsibly and submitting receipts and change accurately.
- Working independently, sorting, assessing, and prioritizing work orders, while communicating effectively regarding issues, daily schedules, and the need for additional assistance or external contractors for projects.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor when necessary.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or technical education in maintenance, repair, or construction preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license in the state of residence, with a clean driving history that meets Corporate Transportation Safety Standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in general maintenance and repair tasks.
- Physical capabilities: ability to move and reach during an eight-hour workday.
- Capacity to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and move furniture up and down stairs.
- Able to climb ladders and possess visual and auditory acuity sufficient for assessing repair needs and driving safely.
- Ability to work an 8–10-hour shift and be on-call for emergencies.
