About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as an Assistant Nurse Manager. This is a leadership role that requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of high quality and efficient care to all patients.
  • Share 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operational activity.
  • Directly supervise nursing and technical personnel, assessing their proficiency, overseeing daily staffing and scheduling needs, evaluating staff performance, and counseling staff members when performance issues are identified.
  • Participate in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions, functioning as a highly transparent role model and demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support professional development of staff and the strategic goals of ChristianaCare.
  • Identify and develop strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff, directing, mentoring, and supporting all levels of staff on the floor, and identifying potential future leaders and engaging in succession planning.
  • Analyze administrative and operational functions, implementing appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing required; Master's required within 3 years.
  • RN required; progressive or intermediate care experience preferred.
  • 5 years of appropriate clinical and leadership experience.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
  • Current Certification required; if selected, candidate will complete the professional certification within six months of start date.
