Job Title: Assistant Nurse Manager for Cardiovascular Operating Room

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a key member of our Cardiovascular Operating Room team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our cardiac program.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working a day shift, Monday through Friday, with some on-call responsibilities and holiday obligations. As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction of the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of high-quality and efficient care to all patients using the services of this area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction of the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of high-quality and efficient care to all patients.
  • Directly supervise nursing and technical personnel, assessing their proficiency, coordinating daily staffing and scheduling needs, evaluating staff performance, and counseling staff members when performance issues are identified.
  • Participate in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions.
  • Function as a highly visible role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support professional development of staff and the strategic goals of ChristianaCare.
  • Identify and develop strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and integrity of staff.
  • Direct, mentor, and support all levels of staff on the floor.
  • Identify potential future leaders and engage in succession planning.
  • Analyze administrative and operational functions, implementing appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing, with a Master's required within 5 years. You must also have 5 years of appropriate clinical and leadership experience, with current certification in CNOR. If selected, you will be required to complete the professional certification within six months of start date.

The successful candidate may be eligible for a $25,000 sign-on bonus to be paid over a period of 24 months.
