Position Overview: The Precision Machinist is responsible for the maintenance, refurbishment, and modification of aviation components, tools, and parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes manual machinery including mills (both small and large), lathes, grinders, and other equipment.
  • Operates CNC machinery, specifically a HAAS 3-axis mill.
  • Conducts rework on aviation components and tooling.
  • Adjusts and sets cutting tools as required.
  • Modifies and sharpens tools as necessary.
  • Works within stringent tolerances to ensure precision.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manual machining is required.
  • Previous machining experience in the aviation sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency with manual and CNC machines is essential.
  • Experience with large jig bore machines is advantageous.
  • Ability to utilize precision measuring tools and hand tools relevant to the tasks.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as necessary.
  • Capability to operate in a shop environment or outdoors, including remote locations for customer support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
