Clinical Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at EvergreenHealth. As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients of all age groups using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques.
- Accurately identify and label all specimens following established laboratory protocol.
- Process all specimens in accordance with laboratory protocol, including proper handling, centrifugation, storage, packaging, and transport.
- Responsible for collecting all insurance/financial information necessary for proper billing.
- Enter orders and patient demographic information in the laboratory information system.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, clinicians, and office staff.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Certification from an approved phlebotomy-training program with successful completion of a required internship preferred, or relevant work experience.
- Medical terminology knowledge.
- State of Washington Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-P) or equivalent certification.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
- 3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory customer service or specimen processing role.
- Previous training and competence in dealing with unique customer service situations with clinicians and their office staff.
- Working knowledge of government regulations, specifically Medicare and Washington state medical Test Site regulations.
