Job Overview:
UPS is currently seeking a dependable Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to become part of our exceptional fleet maintenance team.

This role involves maintaining a diverse array of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers.

Powered vehicle propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and alternative technology power sources (such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric in select locations).

Vehicle Maintenance Specialists must be proficient in diagnosing and servicing various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

Vehicle Maintenance Specialists must be prepared to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the needs of the location.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Meet D.O.T requirements and CDL qualifications as required by job assignment.
• Engage in physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday.
• Occasionally sit as required during the workday.
• Utilize hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reach from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
• Operate both standard and manual transmission vehicles.
• Utilize power and pneumatic tools.
• Fulfill all requirements to be Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Documented automotive mechanical experience is required.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers is essential.
• Possession of a complete set of personal hand tools is preferred.
• Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
• NY State Inspection License is required.
• Work full-time shifts: 8 hours per day.
• Dependable with the ability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled workdays consistently.
• Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime based on service needs.
• Wear personal protective equipment as required.

Work in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, as well as outside inclement weather.

Collaborate effectively in a diverse work environment.
Communicate efficiently through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $38.22 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges, as well as benefit offerings, are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.

Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision coverage after a waiting and/or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family leave as required by law, paid holidays, and a discounted employee stock purchase program.
