Position Overview:


Under the guidance of a physician or nurse, performs various tasks to assist in the treatment and care of patients, adhering to established protocols and standards.


Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Point of Care Testing and ensure quality control measures are met. Administer EKGs as required. Confirm accurate patient identification.

Proficient in Utilizing the Following Systems:
Current health information systems, Document Imaging (DI), Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN), Gold, Provider Portal, and websites for insurance verification/eligibility, among others. Adhere to practice-specific protocols. Complete administrative tasks accurately and within designated time frames. Manage messages promptly and utilize EMR inboxes for effective communication. Consistently demonstrate proper techniques in operating all office equipment. Maintain a clean and well-stocked patient care area. Exhibit proficiency in Medical Assistant skills. Assist nursing staff and technicians in preparing patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures. Prioritize tasks effectively. Show initiative and proactively seek out responsibilities while collaborating with all team members to provide assistance. Fulfill all duties in a constructive and efficient manner. Engage actively in performance improvement initiatives.

Maintain awareness of biohazard safety protocols related to the role; manually deliver specimens to the laboratory and change gloves between patients.

Handle specimens using appropriate techniques and ensure correct labeling for laboratory transfer. Consistently perform all tasks using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and in compliance with OSHA standards. Execute all other assigned duties.

Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of medical or clinical experience.

Essential Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients, families, and team members; Capacity to handle crisis situations; Proficient in providing customer service to patients, team members, and visitors; Familiarity with electronic health records; Experience in a clinical or practice setting.
