About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Avionics Hardware team at Astra. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing cutting-edge electronics for our rocket and spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop avionics components, including board design, system integration, and testing
  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to develop state-of-the-art avionics components
  • Support Mission Operations, including mission control console time
  • Participate in the development of radiation-tolerant systems, redundant systems for flight-critical components, and power supply design
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in electronics design, including discrete analog design, simulation, switch mode power supply design, and technical documentation
  • PCB layout experience in Altium or equivalent
  • Programming experience in C/C++/Python and/or MATLAB
  • Simulation experience in spice and hyperlynx or equivalent

ITAR Requirements

This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies.
