About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Jacobs. As a key member of our water group, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from major programs to smaller utilities, and collaborate with top talent in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities.
  • Prepare contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects.
  • Expertly apply knowledge of electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to the electrical engineering industry.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and provide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Perform power system studies, provide equipment sizing and grounding design, and conduct site investigations for public and private clients.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations and develop basis of design reports.
  • Prepare proposals and interview with clients, and mentor junior staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered California professional electrical engineer with ability to reciprocate as needed, or licensure in another state with ability to obtain a California PE within 6 months.
  • 8+ years of experience related to water industry in electrical engineering role.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with Permitting review agencies.
  • Experience leading electrical discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and NFPA 820.
  • Familiarity with IEEE color book series.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in designing and delivering municipal water and wastewater treatment projects via different delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit MEP, AGi32, Visual Lighting Software, SKM, ETAP, and California's Title 24 compliance for electrical distribution and lighting.
  • Field investigative and startup experience.
