Position Overview

Reports to: Cage Shift Manager

Supervises: Cage Cashiers and Main Bankers

Role Summary:

The Cage Operations Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the Cage functions, equipment, and personnel during designated shifts, with a strong focus on safeguarding funds, ensuring accountability, and promoting efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to relevant Tribal, Federal, and other regulations, as well as Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures.
  • Uphold the highest standards of customer service by actively listening and addressing guest and team member inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet operational demands and guest requirements.
  • Keep comprehensive departmental records and reports.
  • Oversee daily activities of team members, including performance evaluations, recognition, disciplinary actions, attendance management, scheduling, training, and work assignments.
  • Safeguard company assets by verifying Cage transactions as documented in the computerized systems.
  • Investigate discrepancies and accurately complete Cage inventory at the conclusion of each gaming day in a timely manner.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of Cage operational controls and software, including updates.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with established internal control procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Facilitate the efficient functioning of the Cage while maintaining a high level of integrity and security of cash and cash equivalents.
  • Assist management in conducting team meetings to discuss policy changes, promotions, upcoming events, and to foster teamwork.
  • Perform the duties of a Cage Cashier or Main Banker as required.
  • Exemplify and promote the core values and skills of the organization.
  • Manage and protect confidential information entrusted to the position.
  • Complete all required training as assigned.
  • Monitor compliance with Federal currency transaction reporting requirements and maintain accurate records as necessary.
  • The responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive but represent a general overview of the duties pertinent to this position. Responsibilities may evolve based on organizational needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred, particularly in a casino Cage environment.
  • An Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, or two years of relevant experience/training.
  • Proven ability to handle and secure substantial amounts of cash.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Ability to foster a positive culture within the Cage to meet and exceed service standards while providing leadership and development to the team.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate proficiency in standard office equipment, including a 10-key calculator and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.

Additional Criteria:

Preference is given to qualified members of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas and other qualified Native Americans.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, and bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; communicate effectively.

  • Must possess the manual dexterity to operate various office equipment.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Casino floor and standard office setting.
  • Frequent walking and standing in a dynamic environment with regular public interaction.
  • Temperature-controlled environment with varying noise levels.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be necessary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure and work long hours in challenging conditions.
  • May encounter various lighting conditions, including artificial and flashing lights.
  • Travel may be required to fulfill essential job functions.

Employment Conditions:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming commission license, including a successful background check.
  • Must provide authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation for commuting purposes.
  • Must comply with internal policies and gaming regulations.
