About the Role

STV is seeking a highly skilled Rail Civil Engineering Specialist to join our Transportation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and producing planning and construction bid documents for rail infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design rail alignments, drainage systems, grading, and other guideway elements using Microstation and AutoCAD.
  • Participate in planning, design, and construction projects, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to develop project content.
  • Develop construction documents, including technical drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in developing technical design reports, calculations, and memos.
  • Perform field inspections and participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of civil transportation engineering fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with civil design drafting software.
  • Strong desire to work with clients, public stakeholders, and fellow team members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Microstation InRoads, OpenRail, and/or AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Construction site experience.
  • Previous experience with freight and passenger railroad design and engineering.
