About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at UofL Health. As a key member of our adolescent mental health unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our young patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Participate in the identification, management, and stabilization of crisis situations
  • Transport patients to and from tests and procedures, providing emotional support and reassurance
  • Assist with physical examinations, safety searches, and discharging patients
  • Perform vital signs, oxygen saturation monitoring, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing as needed
  • Collaborate with the nursing care team and other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in social and health sciences preferred
  • One year of inpatient or emergency psychiatry experience preferred; completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant or Medical Assistant training program also preferred
  • CPR certification accredited by the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers required
