Job Summary:

The Tooling Engineer is responsible for managing tooling and tooling build timelines to ensure high-quality components are produced on time and cost-effectively. This role requires the use of up-to-date technologies to continuously improve products, meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Forecast and budget tooling-related expenses.
  • Coordinate with other departments and facilities to implement, develop, and improve new and old programs' tooling requirements.
  • Coordinate the fabrication of required tooling and equipment.
  • Implement engineering changes on new and existing tooled programs.
  • Develop and maintain a tooling tracker and report accordingly.
  • Act as a technical contact for vendors on tooling issues.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience in the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with metal fabricating, assembly processes, and related tooling.
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Community College graduate technical or a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker.
  • Knowledge of progressive dies, transfer dies, blank forming, tube forming.
  • Advanced GD&T.
  • Demonstrated planning and system implementation ability.
