About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join our team at Toole Design Group in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse team to deliver highway or roadway projects from preliminary through final design, on time and on budget, while coordinating with clients, and inspiring and mentoring your team to deliver great work.

This is a full-time position that typically works a hybrid schedule, with at least two to three days a week in the office. We also provide employees with the opportunity and necessary equipment to work from home 2-3 days per week. The Columbus office of Toole Design is in downtown Columbus on Broad Street, across from Capitol Square.

Responsibilities

- Manage a diverse team to deliver highway or roadway projects from preliminary through final design
- Coordinate with clients and inspire and mentor your team to deliver great work
- Develop construction documents and/or public agency construction administration
- Prepare transportation and local agency permit documents
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinating utility and right-of-way impacts, street lighting, traffic signal, and landscape/hardscape layouts

Requirements

- A Professional Engineering license in OH (other Midwest states a plus)
- A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation (including OpenRoads), AutoCAD (including Civil 3D)
