Electrical Engineer Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our growth within the Water and Wastewater Business at Stantec. This role will involve the design and execution of projects ranging in size and complexity, with a focus on industrial water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for engineering projects of a complex nature.
  • Design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial water and wastewater purposes.
  • Prepare layout drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Approve and prepare proposals and cost estimates and evaluate all project progress and recommends changes.
  • Perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource to other team members.
  • Represent project work in client meetings and continues to cultivate relationships with client organizations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Specialization in water/wastewater facility design.
  • Experience with the development of schematic control diagrams and block diagrams.
  • Experience with distribution systems operating at 120/208V, 480V, and 4160V.
  • Experience with specialized power system software such as ETAP and SKM PowerTools is a plus.
  • Experience with the construction phase of the project, including but not limited to shop drawing reviews, RFI reviews, and field inspections.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or an engineer in training (EIT) with plans to pursue a PE license.
