Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tool Room Team Lead to join our team at Stryten Energy. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for leading the effort to maximize output of quality, time, and materials required to change, repair, build tools, and repair molds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Our overriding priority is safety. You will be responsible for identifying and correcting unsafe conditions to ensure the well-being of all team members and get manufacturing equipment operational as soon as possible.
  • Hands-on Approach: You will be hands-on in all activities of the shift to ensure best practices are being followed, resulting in quality work, maximizing output, and reducing errors.
  • Team Collaboration: You must be able and willing to work alongside team members to achieve common goals.
  • Tooling and Inventory Management: You will review daily tooling requests, process mold movement requests, and ensure strong communication with all internal customers.
  • Kanban System Management: You will champion the management of our in-house Kanban system for tooling inventory.
  • Cost Reduction and Improvement: You will help manage discretionary spending, propose, and implement improvements that will reduce costs and increase output.
  • Workplace Organization: You will continuously improve the general housekeeping, organization of equipment, tools, and supplies to keep workstations as efficient as possible.
  • Safety Compliance: You will review work areas for safety compliance and safe working conditions, investigate, document, and report each incident according to procedure.
  • Engineering Collaboration: You will interact closely with engineering, troubleshoot, review mold design practices, and sampling of new products.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: You will communicate accurately and comfortably with all levels of management, handle multiple priorities, and work well under pressure.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience in injection molding toolroom or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
  • Teamwork and Communication: You must function well in a team environment and communicate well with others.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: You must be able to troubleshoot and repair molds as needed.
  • Attendance and Performance: You must have good attendance and performance work history.
  • Motivation and Self-Starters: You must be a motivated self-starter that can productively work alone and in groups to solve problems.
  • Mechanical Ability: You must have proven mechanical ability.
  • Training and Certifications: You must complete a forklift driving training program, learn proper lifting skills of up to 10,000 lbs. with a forklift or crane, and complete a Lock Out/Tag Out training program.
