Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team at Ascendo, a certified minority-owned staffing firm. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Account Reconciliations: Reconcile account balances and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.
  • Tax Returns: Prepare tax returns for clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Audit Preparations: Assist with audit preparations, including gathering financial data and ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order.
  • General Accounting Operations: Oversee general accounting operations, including financial data analysis and forecasting.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 2-5+ years of experience in financial accounting.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (highly desired).
  • Skills: Good knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry and tax regulations. Big 4 experience is a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Highly detail-oriented and problem-solving oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
