Overview:


The Neurodiagnostic Technician II is responsible for performing specialized medical assessments that evaluate the electrical activity of the brain, aiding in the diagnosis of various neurological conditions such as seizures, sleep disturbances, and cerebral tumors.

This role involves executing both standard and advanced Neurodiagnostic (EEG) procedures and calibrations, adhering to established professional standards and regulatory guidelines to ensure the accuracy and dependability of results.

Under general supervision, this position also involves the maintenance and troubleshooting of Neurodiagnostic equipment to guarantee optimal functionality.

Responsibilities:


Conducts both routine and intricate EEG assessments, including impedance evaluations, photic stimulation, hyperventilation, and video monitoring, to meet professional and regulatory benchmarks, contributing to precise neurological evaluations and diagnoses.

Ensures the identification and mitigation of artifact interference in EEG and video recordings.


Maintains Neurodiagnostic apparatus by performing calibrations and troubleshooting to assure equipment readiness and precision, thereby enhancing the reliability and efficiency of EEG practices.


Compiles test reports and preserves test data, gathering patient history and pertinent medication details to assist the neurologist in accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of patient progress.


Oversees the inventory of EEG supplies and maintains a sanitized environment, implementing infection control measures to ensure a safe and hygienic testing atmosphere, thereby promoting patient safety.


Communicates EEG procedures and preparations to patients to improve their understanding and cooperation during testing, fostering a positive patient experience.

Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:
Completion of an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics or a combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:
3 years of relevant experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

Registered EEG Technologist

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
