Position Overview
Novant Health is in search of a dedicated END Tech to join our esteemed team.
The primary responsibility of the END Tech is to ensure an exceptional patient experience across all interactions. This role involves performing diagnostic procedures such as EEGs and long-term monitoring while accurately documenting and charging for completed examinations. The END Tech plays a vital role in promoting neurophysiology services, adhering to departmental policies, and maintaining clinical competency appropriate for the patient demographics served. Under the guidance of registered staff, the END Tech will execute various diagnostic procedures.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a commitment of 3 days per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with rotating on-call responsibilities during holidays and weekends from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; an Associate Degree is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in neurodiagnostic procedures or one year in Surgical Monitoring or neurodiagnostics, with registration required.
- Licensure/Certification: Must be registry eligible or registered/certified in a neurodiagnostic field.
- Essential Skills: Knowledge and skills to adapt care based on patient age, ability to interpret information for age-specific care, maintain CPR certification, and identify basic cardiac rhythms. Must be capable of independently rotating on-call and weekend shifts, as well as assisting Neurologists in interpreting encephalographic patterns.
- Preferred Skills: Proficiency in identifying basic cardiac rhythms and assisting in the interpretation of encephalographic patterns.

- Conduct END procedures utilizing appropriate testing strategies, electrode montages, and calibration techniques.
- Gather comprehensive information from patient medical records and document findings accurately in the technologist's report.
- Perform long-term video/EEG monitoring with both scalp and intracranial electrodes, ensuring precise management of EEG recordings.
- Adhere to established standards for EEG recording practices.
- Assist in the technical execution of specialized neurodiagnostic procedures, including long-term monitoring, evoked potentials, and intraoperative neuromonitoring.
- Foster a positive atmosphere for patients, families, and healthcare team members while complying with hospital policies and procedures.
