Position Overview

Novant Health is in search of a dedicated END Tech to join our esteemed team.

The primary responsibility of the END Tech is to ensure an exceptional patient experience across all interactions. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients and their families. The END Tech is responsible for conducting diagnostic assessments such as EEGs and long-term monitoring, while accurately documenting and charging for completed examinations. This position also involves promoting the availability of neurophysiology services and adhering to departmental policies and protocols, ensuring clinical and professional competency tailored to the age of the patients served. The END Tech performs diagnostic procedures under the guidance of registered staff.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a commitment of 3 days per week, from Monday to Friday, with hours from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Additionally, there will be rotating holidays and weekend on-call responsibilities from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate Degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in neurodiagnostic procedures or at least one year of experience in Surgical Monitoring or neurodiagnostics is required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must be registry eligible or registered/certified in a neurodiagnostic field.
  • Essential Skills: Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to adapt care based on patient age. Ability to interpret information to identify patient care requirements relative to age-specific needs is essential. CPR certification is required. Must be capable of identifying basic cardiac rhythms and rates. The ability to independently manage on-call rotations is necessary. Must interpret basic encephalographic brain patterns, both normal and abnormal, and assist neurologists in their interpretation.
  • Preferred Skills: Familiarity with identifying basic cardiac rhythms and assisting in the interpretation of encephalographic brain patterns is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts END procedures utilizing appropriate testing strategies, electrode montage parameters, and calibration techniques.
  • Gathers all pertinent information from the patient's medical history and progress notes, ensuring this is accurately reflected in the technologist's report.
  • Executes long-term video/EEG monitoring for patients using scalp and intracranial electrodes, managing EEG recordings with precision and maintaining an archived record of EEG data.
  • Adheres to established standards of practice for EEG recordings.
  • Aids in the technical operation of specialized neurodiagnostic procedures, including long-term monitoring, evoked potentials, and intraoperative neuromonitoring.
  • Fosters a positive environment for patients, their families, and fellow healthcare team members while complying with hospital policies and procedures.
