Job Summary

Globus Medical is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in the medical revenue cycle process, providing administrative support in billing and collections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and maintain all governmental, regulatory, and company billing and compliance regulations and policies for payers
  • Assist patients in resolving accounts, including processing payments, setting up payment plans, filing appeals, and providing information regarding intraoperative monitoring services
  • Address patient billing inquiries and concerns from patients, surgeon offices, and facility customers
  • Obtain and document all necessary information by contacting the patient, physician's office, hospital, next of kin, insurance carrier, etc.
  • Identify and report to management any payer issues with regards to billing and collections
  • Review and log correspondence regarding patient balances and collections
  • Process, maintain, and rectify accounts/records in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Typically requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • High level of quality awareness, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Data-oriented with basic proficiency in MS Office Applications, strong analytical skills, and the ability to create detailed reports
  • Sense of urgency and customer-oriented mindset with understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance and Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and handle various priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
