About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Engineering to lead our engineering function. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of engineering principles and have a proven track record in designing, managing, and optimizing cutting-edge facilities and equipment that support advanced biotechnological research and production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities and Equipment Design: Lead the design, development, and optimization of high-tech biotech facilities and equipment, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, with a focus on facility and equipment-related initiatives.
  • Technical Strategy: Develop and implement the engineering strategy for facilities and equipment, aligning with the company's vision and long-term goals.
  • Innovation and Problem-Solving: Identify and assess emerging technologies and trends in facilities and equipment design, leveraging them to enhance the company's competitive edge.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage the engineering budget, with a focus on optimizing resource allocation for facility and equipment projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary engineering liaison to senior management, providing regular updates on facility and equipment project progress, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position focused on facilities and equipment design within the biotech or life sciences industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices, particularly in the design and optimization of biotech facilities and equipment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing complex facility and equipment design projects from concept to completion.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
