Efficiently manage the operations of the nursing unit, ensuring smooth admissions, discharges, and transfers through the use of electronic systems. - Clerical Duties:
Perform various administrative tasks to support the unit, including document management and communication handling. - Patient Care:
Assist in delivering routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to daily living activities and overall patient comfort. - Inventory Management:
Oversee the ordering and stocking of unit supplies, participating in budget preparation and maintaining cost efficiency. - Communication:
Facilitate effective communication among healthcare team members and ensure timely dissemination of patient information. - Customer Service:
Provide exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff, maintaining a welcoming and safe environment. - Documentation:
Accurately document patient care activities and maintain organized medical records. - Monitoring:
Monitor patient heart rates and rhythms, reporting any irregularities to the appropriate personnel. - Regulatory Compliance:
Adhere to professional standards and hospital policies, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must maintain CPR certification and meet ongoing education requirements.
- Proficient in computer usage and office equipment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
