Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team at Rix Sports Bar, located within Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, ensuring accurate and timely service, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the bar and lounge area for guest arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Know and explain all food and beverage items on the menus, including featured items and specials.
  • Politely greet guests in a timely fashion, leading them through the restaurant menus and making menu suggestions.
  • Suggestively sell and upsell menu items as appropriate, answering guest questions and ensuring accurate orders.
  • Ring guest orders accurately into the POS system, preparing drinks quickly and efficiently.
  • Deliver each order to the guest or server in a timely fashion, observing proper service procedures.
  • Follow up with guests at appropriate times to ensure satisfaction and refill beverages.
  • Clear the bar area and/or tables of unnecessary items at appropriate times, processing guest payments accurately and quickly.
  • Maintain the bar area in a clean and organized condition, receiving and storing liquor, beer, and wine orders.
  • Work with managers to ensure proper par levels of all bar items are maintained, preparing essential bar products as necessary.
  • Complete all assigned opening and closing duties, displaying proper food safety procedures at all times.
  • Follow all necessary laws and processes for the safe service of alcohol, working closely with all other team members and displaying good teamwork.
  • Follow the Disney 5-Keys Basics, Service Basics, and Company Guidelines at all times.
Requirements
  • Minimum one year of bartending experience.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plus.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety Certificate.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors Certificate.
  • Must be well-versed in food safety, including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirements.
  • Must be well-versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beverages.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform all necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to stand and be mobile for up to 4 consecutive hours.
  • Must be able to function in narrow spaces, such as those found in kitchens and dining rooms.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment/food up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess dexterity in lifting and carrying trays and other restaurant items.
  • Must be able to push and pull (carts, doors, etc.).
  • Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to complete work duties in a variety of environmental conditions, including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments, and outdoors.
  • Must be able to work with foods containing various food allergens.
  • Must be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all types.
  • Must be able to effectively satisfy guest demands.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be fluent in the English language.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to arrive for all assigned shifts on-time.
  • Must be able to comply with company appearance guidelines.
