Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dining tables with clean linens, silverware, and glassware.
  • Maintain cleanliness by clearing and cleaning tables.
  • Ensure tabletops and chairs are wiped down and sanitized.
  • Take meal orders from residents with attention to detail.
  • Restock clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in the dining area.
  • Manage the self-service bar, providing food options such as soups, salads, and desserts.
  • Gather necessary plates and bowls for the self-service bar and soup kettle.
  • Serve meals, beverages, and condiments to residents efficiently.
  • Assist in the setup of food and beverages for special events or meetings.
  • Support cleanup efforts following special events.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the server area at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure the prep items in the produce cooler are kept clean.
  • Prepare coffee and refill fruit juice dispensers.
  • Perform floor maintenance, including sweeping and mopping.
  • Transport food and dishes between different levels of the establishment.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Job Specifications:
Education:
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Experience:
  • No prior experience is necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a current Food Handler's Permit.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is essential.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work hours are typically 8 hours.
  • Frequent standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Occasional sitting is permitted.
  • Regular walking over short distances.
  • Frequent bending is necessary.
  • Occasional stair use is required, but not mandatory.
  • Rarely climbing or kneeling is needed.
  • Regular lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional repetitive hand and foot movements.

Supervision:
  • This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Working Environment:
  • May encounter hot, humid, and occasionally hazardous conditions, including exposure to fire, chemicals, and hot equipment.
  • Potential exposure to slippery surfaces and strong odors.
  • May interact with residents and family members who may be emotionally distressed.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled is required.
