Job Title: Psychiatrist

Job Summary:

Cape Fox Shared Services is seeking a highly qualified Psychiatrist to join our team in support of the US Coast Guard (USCG) Multidiscipline Healthcare Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans for behavioral health conditions.
  • Provide individual, group, couples, and family therapy sessions, as well as psychotherapy and psychiatric medication management.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare staff and Commands to provide consultation services and maintain open communication.
  • Ensure the fitness of active-duty personnel for unrestricted worldwide duty and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Provide timely evaluation and management for urgent and emergent problems, as well as regularly scheduled appointments.
  • Act as liaison with Work-Life personnel, Substance Abuse Program Specialists, Chaplains, EAP providers, and other mental health resources to coordinate care.
  • Make appropriate referrals to specialists and provide expert opinion related to Mental Health diagnoses and condition.
  • Prepare and submit documentation as specified in applicable Coast Guard regulations.

Requirements:

  • Must meet or exceed industry standards in accordance with established principles, practices, and ethics.
  • Must reflect the degree and care, skill, and learning expected of a reasonably prudent healthcare provider in the Psychiatric profession.

Working Conditions:

This position is contingent upon award and requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Education and Experience:

A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree and completion of a psychiatric residency program are required.

Language:

The primary language for this position is English.
