Job Title: Professional Engineer - Code Enforcement Specialist

Living Mulch LLC is seeking a highly skilled Professional Engineer to join our team as a Code Enforcement Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with a focus on construction, structural design, and code enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce local, state, and federal building codes, zoning laws, and ordinances to ensure compliance in the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and properties.
  • Conduct onsite inspections to assess whether buildings, structures, and land uses conform to zoning and building regulations.
  • Issue correction notices, citations, or stop-work orders to property owners, contractors, or developers for non-compliance with codes and ordinances.
  • Ensure that all construction and renovation projects comply with safety, environmental, and public health regulations.
  • Analyze structural calculations, load-bearing capacities, foundation stability, and other engineering aspects of buildings to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State.
  • Certification as a Code Enforcement Official through a recognized organization such as the International Code Council (ICC) or state certification program is required.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in engineering, with a focus on construction, structural design, or code enforcement.
