About the Role

The Academic Support Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the teaching team at BASIS Charter Schools. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and want to gain experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers with classroom management, student academic support, and tutoring.
  • Event Support: Assist with events, labs, and testing, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for students and staff.
  • Student Progress: Work with teachers to evaluate student progress, needs, and gains, providing valuable insights to inform instruction.
  • Proctoring and Supervision: Proctor assessments and monitor students' non-scheduled time, including Early Bird and Late Bird supervision and Lunch Monitor responsibilities.
  • Study Groups and Programs: Assist with managing study groups and supporting the school's programs, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Certifications and Clearances: Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and ability to obtain any necessary certifications.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse constituents.
