Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Support Technician to join our team at TEKsystems.

This is a long-term contract engagement with our client, requiring a professional with 2+ years of experience in supporting RF Devices, Barcode Scanners, Windows OS, and Printer Support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of assets to minimize incident impact and downtime.
  • Develop and maintain IT processes and procedures to support the site, including leading local project management for technical refreshes and end-user equipment deployments.
  • Install, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot various software and computer devices, mobile phones, scanners, network equipment, printers, and telephones.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to other technicians.
  • Ensure exceptional service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, and identifying trends for system improvements.
  • Make technical recommendations to site leadership regarding problems, projects, and releases.
  • Create batch files or PowerShell scripts for asset management and incident resolution.

Requirements:

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in end-user equipment and new software applications as needed.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for End-User IT Systems
  • Understands and is familiar with the most widely known and emerging tools and technologies.
  • Understands and is familiar with Service Now ticketing system.
  • Understands and is familiar with SolarWinds network monitoring tool.

  • Analytical Skills: Identifies opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and develops/recommends/implements solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Presents organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience.
  • Time Management Skills: Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks, and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame.
