Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team at Retina-Vitreous Associates Medical Group. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide critical support to our physicians, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Visit Preparation: Prepare examination rooms and medical trays for use by our physicians, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Chart Review and Verification: Review and verify the completeness of patient work-ups, making corrections as necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Medical Assistance: Medically assist our physicians during patient examinations, providing critical support and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Documentation and Charting: Scribe and document patient information in a timely and accurate manner, reviewing charts for verification and making corrections as needed.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate with our senior scribe, lead tech, and front office staff to ensure efficient movement and flow of patients through our clinic.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, performing examinations such as OCT, fundus, FA, tonometry, and others as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee medical supply and pharmaceutical inventory, maintaining a clean and orderly clinical environment.
  • Staff Support: Work with our lead tech to ensure completeness of technician responsibilities, engaging in corrective and preventative action as needed.
  • Communication: Facilitate exchange of correspondence between our call center, front desk, clinic staff, physicians, and administration.
  • Problem-Solving: Clearly articulate operational problems and positively contribute to solution development, working with our scribes and administrative staff.
  • Compliance: Perform according to departmental policies and procedures, as well as our employee handbook, at all times.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by our immediate supervisor and executive leadership, participating in required cross-training and company training as needed.
