Position Overview:
The Culinary and Nutritional Support Specialist is responsible for delivering routine food preparation and patient assistance services across various dining areas, meal service, catering, or events.

Essential Qualifications:
Required+ Preferred+ High School Diploma or Equivalent+ ServSafe Certification

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to the essential functions outlined below, employees must ensure timely completion of all required training as mandated by DNV standards, Bozeman Health policies, and other regulatory requirements.+ Prepares and serves beverages and meals according to patient specifications, including specialized diet orders, safety modifications, and proper patient identification.+ Accurately records patients' nutrient intakes following established protocols.+ Provides detailed menu information and clarifications regarding ingredients and preparation methods as needed.+ Assists in food preparation as directed, utilizing food production equipment to complete tasks effectively.+ Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations to uphold hygiene standards.+ Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen items, returning them to their designated locations.+ Restocks condiments and other food supplies as necessary.+ Adheres to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure high-quality food service.+ Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling:

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds (for moving supplies, equipment, etc.) and carry items as needed.


  • Extended Hours:

This role may require working for extended periods, necessitating sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.


  • Flexible Schedule:

The position may require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.


On-Call Availability:
On-call duties may be necessary to address organizational, patient, or employee needs promptly.

Effective Communication:
Must demonstrate proficiency in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.

Handling Challenging Situations:
The role may involve managing upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients, families, or colleagues.

Repetitive Tasks:
Ability to perform repetitive tasks as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.Potential Exposures:

Job tasks may involve exposure to:+ Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.+ Radiation in environments where medical imaging procedures are conducted.+ Various chemicals and medications utilized in healthcare settings.

Job responsibilities may also involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.+ Potential exposure to infectious diseases due to interaction with patients in areas that may harbor contagious illnesses.
