You will be an integral part of the food production team, responsible for preparing and serving an exceptional dining experience for our residents and their guests.
Essential Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen or catering environment.
- Completion of ServSafe Certification within four (4) months of employment.
Preferred:
- Culinary Arts Degree.
- Three (3) years of experience in a full-service restaurant or commercial catering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring compliance with dietary needs and portion control.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all prepared dishes meet the highest standards of flavor, texture, and presentation, satisfying the expectations of residents and their guests.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to design diverse and balanced menus that cater to the dietary preferences and requirements of our residents and their guests.
- Food Safety: Adhere to all established food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning practices.
- Presentation: Ensure that all meals are visually appealing and presented in an appetizing manner.
- Dietary Adaptation: Modify recipes to accommodate specific dietary restrictions or preferences, such as low-sodium, gluten-free, or vegetarian options.
- Inventory Oversight: Monitor and report on food and kitchen supplies, assisting in procurement and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including daily cleaning tasks and regular deep cleaning.
- Time Management: Manage multiple cooking tasks simultaneously, adhering to preparation schedules and meeting deadlines for meal service.
- Equipment Maintenance: Report any equipment issues to management for prompt repairs or replacements.
- Flexibility: Adjust recipes and portion sizes to accommodate special requests and needs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, servers, and management to coordinate meal service and ensure efficient kitchen operations, also managing the kitchen in the absence of the executive chef.
- Customer Engagement: Interact with residents and guests to understand their preferences and provide a personalized dining experience, addressing special requests and feedback with professionalism.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including the proper use of kitchen equipment and tools, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and effectively managing ingredient inventory.
- Event Support: Assist in planning and preparing special meals for holidays and events as required.
