Job Title: Medical Biller

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller to join our team at Alteas Health. As a Medical Biller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing processes, working closely with our clinical team to ensure accurate and timely payment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies, either electronically or by paper
  • Troubleshoot and resolve/escalate billing errors, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing delays
  • Research, resolve, and report identified unbilled claims, ensuring accurate and timely payment
  • Update information and provide necessary documentation to ensure payment on insurance claims
  • Review patient accounts for accuracy and insurance verification, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage the status of accounts and balances to identify inconsistencies, taking corrective action as needed
  • Correct claim rejections and denials, resubmitting corrected claims in a timely manner
  • Work on the aging report as specified by Practice guidelines, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding claims
  • Additional billing duties, as assigned, to support the smooth operation of our billing processes
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience as a Billing Specialist
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency
  • CPC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC-H certification is a plus
