Job Overview

Our organization is seeking a skilled Vertical Turbine Bowl Assembler to contribute to the assembly, inspection, and testing of vertical turbine bowls used in various applications. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, precision assembly skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, fit, and secure component parts of vertical turbine bowls, including bearings, seals, impellers, and diffusers, following blueprints and assembly instructions.
  • Inspect and verify dimensions and alignment of parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, making adjustments or repairs as necessary to meet quality standards.
  • Apply and secure gaskets, seals, and lubricants as required during the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to recommend improvements to assembly processes and product design based on assembly experience.
  • Document assembly processes and test results, maintaining accurate records for quality assurance purposes.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform maintenance on assembly equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mechanical assembly role, with specific experience in assembling vertical turbine pumps or similar equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to achieving high-quality assembly outcomes.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
