Job Summary
The Counter Server is a key member of our restaurant team, responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to our guests. As a Counter Server, you will be the face of our brand, ensuring that every guest leaves with a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a point-of-sale system and handle cash and credit transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe dining environment, including wiping tables and chairs, discarding trash, and stocking table top supplies.
- Participate in food preparation and service, adhering to health codes and company specifications.
- Provide responsible alcohol service to guests, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas, dining areas, restrooms, and kitchen equipment.
- Safely use knives and operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and soup kettles.
- Report any issues or concerns to management, including guest comments and feedback.
- Assist with storage and delivery of food, beverages, and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Understanding of oral or written directions in English is required.
- Basic computer and math skills are necessary.
- High school graduate preferred.
- Prior guest service experience is preferred.
- Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
- TIPS certification preferred.
- Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level is required for employees of ski-in/ski-out restaurants in winter.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The Counter Server will work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in wet, hot, and humid conditions. The position may also require skiing or snowboarding in certain locations.
